As the nation emerges from winter, attention turns to the lasting impact the season has on vehicles - particularly steering and suspension systems. Months of icy conditions, rainfall and freeze-thaw cycles create deeper potholes and worsen road surfaces, putting immense strain on vital suspension components.

With spring and summer ahead, it’s crucial for garages and workshops to prioritise thorough inspections and servicing of these parts to ensure vehicles remain safe and roadworthy. Equally important is selecting quality, OE-matching parts from trusted brands and ensure products are fitted by a trained installer, so all the required safety elements are met.

First Line has over 9,200 steering and suspension components in its leading range, including Suspension Arms, Tie Rod Ends, Rack Ends, Stabiliser Links, Engine Mounts, Top Strut Mounts and Bushes, covering popular passenger car makes and models – including Hybrids and EVs.

All First Line products undergo a strict continuous approval process where they are checked to ensure products are manufactured to meet or exceed OE characteristics and performance standards.

For some steering and suspension components, such as trailing arm bushes, a specific tool is required for fitting to prevent premature product failure. Hence, why First Line would always recommend that its products are fitted by a trained installer who has access to the required fitting tools.

As well as calibrating the tyres after fitting steering and suspension components, it is good practice to check the other suspension parts for potential failure which could be replaced while the car is still in the garage, this would save the customers time and money in future repairs.

First Line has over 1,700 unique steering and suspension part numbers that cover Hybrids and EVs including parts for Tesla’s, VAGs, BMW and Mercedes.

This year First Line introduced over 250 new steering and suspension parts which included adding new part numbers for the MG EVs which are widely requested.
